I agree with people who are too overly thrifty. It is good to be smart about your money, but don't be so chicken about it. My parents drive with lots of dents on their car and i tell them to fix it, but they refuse to get it fixed. My parents are also too scared to sell their house and they own two houses even though they are far from rich as well. People who are too thrifty are really annoying and get on my nerves if you ask me.

I just wanted to say that times are very hard and difficult for a lot more people that is used to be myself included. I have learned to shop at community thrift stores and one thing at the local one near me each week they have certain colored tags on the clothing for 99 cents. So needless to say I only look for those color tags as things are really bad financially for me. But hey, I look at shopping at the thrift store as an adventure and finding only one of a kind as there are not racks of the same pants, shirts, blouses, etc all in different sizes of the same, so it has broadened my horizons on what I now wear as far as going for the brighter colors instead of all neutrals as in the past because I can get these items for 99 cents apiece. Also, you can get sometimes new clothing with tags still on, or just slightly worn clothing. Also, name designer brands, such as Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, all kinds of designer brands and wonderful items at the thrift store. I also, love yard sales, flea markets and things of that sort....

A certain relative who will remain nameless is OTT frugal (okay, cheap, I said it) and when he visits us he buys food that he doesn't even share with us (at our home!)
